Take a Break Bed and Breakfast is situated in Alcalá la Real which is a beautiful town with a fascinating history. It was first inhabited during the stone age and played an important role during the Roman and Moorish occupations of Spain. Explore the impressive Fortaleza la Mota, which you can see from our roof terrace. Why not visit the town museum in the Palacio Abacial or just wander around the streets of the old town to soak up the atmosphere and get a sense of this special place. This is real Spain where you will be greeted with Buenas Dias (Good Morning) by every passing soul and tapas comes freely with every beer in the local bars. You'll find Alcalá a friendly place and there's plenty to do here whether you enjoy shopping, relaxing on the terrace of your favourite bar, attending a performance at the theatre, swimming in the outdoor pool or experiencing the drama and majesty of the festivals that occur throughout the year. Then there is the countryside! Miles and miles of walking whether you wander through nature filled fields or up mountains dotted with goats the views will take your breath away filling you with wonder at this world we live in. A short journey away is Granada, where you can visit world famous Alhambra palaces, built by the Moors in the 14th century. A fabulous day out. Granada is seeped in history to wander in the old town or sit in a cafe and sip sweet mint tea and pasteries you would be forgiven for thinking you were in a North African Souk. During the winter months the Sierra Navada's where the Alpine ski championships have been held are open for winter sports, slay rides or just to experience a warm winters day in Spain.
